2023 Court 4 Revitalization Survey:
The board of the Steeplechase Resident Homeowners Association (SRHA) is requesting your input by July 9, 2023 as a 2023 Facility member via the survey below regarding the proposal to revitalize tennis Court 4 into a Multi-Activity Court (MAC). Court 4 is off Furlong Run behind Court 3.
One response per paid Facility membership as of July 9, 2023. Each response will need to provide the property address and name of owner in order to confirm 2023 membership status. Failure to provide this information will result in your survey response not being included in the results.
Once the results are tallied, the SRHA board will communicate results within 45 days via regular Steeplechase communication channels.

Background: View proposal
For more than 7 years, SRHA has not been able to maintain Court 4 as a viable tennis/pickleball court due to the estimated cost of approximately $15,000 to resurface the court, add posts, nets, and screens, run electricity, install light posts, and add lights. Over the years, various SRHA boards have focused SRHA facility funds on maintaining the facility, pool, and Courts 1-3. At the March 2023 General Membership Meeting, some Steeplechase residents proposed to turn Court 4 into a basketball court that would also allow 4-square and hopscotch activities. Feedback on the proposal was provided at that meeting and other venues. The feedback was addressed in a new updated proposal for a Multi-Activity Court (MAC) with basketball, soccer, 4-square, and hopscotch. That proposal can be found HERE.
A key aspect of this proposal is that no SRHA 2023-2024 funds will be used to revitalize Court 4 into the MAC. The Steeplechase residents who proposed the Court 4 revitalization plan to raise the estimated $5,000 necessary by October 31, 2023.

Use of this Survey:
This survey should NOT be considered a formal Facility membership vote. Thus, the SRHA board is not bound by the results of this survey. SRHA by-laws give the board the authority to make this decision in Article V Board of Directors: Number, Powers, Meetings – C Powers and Duties, Section 24 Powers: (e) Provide for the operation, care, upkeep, maintenance of all areas which are the operation of the Association and (g) making and amending use restrictions and rules and regulations as relates to the use and enjoyment of common and special areas of the subdivision.
The purpose of this survey is to get a good understanding of how the overall Facility Membership feels about this proposed improvement to our Facility grounds. We understand that there are some strong feelings for and against the project. While we can’t make a decision as a board based on just a few households, it is important for us to know that, whatever the outcome, we are making an informed decision based on a general consensus of Facility Members. You are the people who make it possible to maintain our amenities.
